Are the import fees (VATs, duties, and brokerage fees) included in the shipping fee?

Last Updated: Jun 07, 2018 12:50PM EDT

No.  The cost of shipping is paid at the time of ordering, however, the import fees - including duties, VATs, and brokerage fees - are NOT included in this cost.  The customer is responsible for paying the import fees directly to the carrier at the time of delivery.

Please note that these fees are assessed by Customs in the destination country and the carrier (DHL or FedEx). Twelve South has no part in the determination of these costs and has no control over them, nor can we predict how much they will be.

Customs charges through FedEx or DHL that are not paid and are reverted back to us will be charged to the customer. If the customer refuses to pay the fees and the shipment is returned to us, the customer will be billed the return shipping charges and any additional fees.  Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
